Job Description : Position Overview

The Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) announces an examination process to create an eligibility list to fill multiple vacancies for the classification of Administrative Assistant I/II District-Wide. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to four (4) months.

The current vacancies are in Primary and Preventive Care and Community Health.

To provide a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned program or section; may serve in a generalist capacity or may perform program-specific duties. Some position assignments may require specialized skills, experience, certification or requirements which will be identified by the hiring authority at the time of recruitment.

Minimum Qualifications

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT I

Education and Training:

Graduation from high school or equivalent education. Basic competency in Microsoft Word and minimum typing speed of 40 net words per minute.

Experience:

One year of clerical, administrative, or secretarial experience.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT II

In addition to all knowledge and abilities required at the I level

Education and Training:

Graduation from high school or equivalent education. Intermediate competency in Microsoft Word, basic competency in Excel and a minimum typing speed of 45 net words per minute.

Experience:

Two (2) years of clerical and administrative support experience with a minimum of six months of experience with the Southern Nevada Health District as an Administrative Assistant I.

This process may include any combination of written, performance, and oral assessments to evaluate job-related education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
