Job Description : SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for assisting students with online applications, job search, and job interviews/job fairs. Work with Employer Partners on student referrals and student placement. Attend all community hiring events to connect with employers outside the current employer partners group.

POSITION CHARACTERISTICS:
Responsible for recruitment of prospective students to Culinary programs. Facilitate a new student enrollment process, which includes advisement, prospective student and applicant processing and follow up, in-person recruitment and community outreach. Work with Executive Director of Student Services to reach the enrollment goals. Attends and participates in scheduled on and off-campus events. Schedules and attends hotel visits for incumbent worker recruitment. Ability to self-initiate, follow up, work independently, and adhere to deadlines. Implement creative recruiting strategies to create a qualified and diverse candidate pool. This position also focuses on student job search and placement. Coordinating job fairs and interviews with Employer partners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for planning and organizing on and offsite job fairs.
Provide information about the training opportunities and assist with creating career pathways.
Responsible for recruitment of job sites for apprenticeship programs.
Develop new relationships with current employer partners for student placement.
Submit weekly reports to the department manager that reflects number of placed students and new employer leads.
Conduct presentations and orientations on and offsite to inform audience about the Culinary Academy programs.
Provide a campus tour to the potential students and employers.
Responsible for student registration and enrollment on a daily basis, and timely and accurate data entry. Create student files with all required documentation in timely manner.
Assist with weekly orientation and special projects. Answer phones and provide accurate information about Culinary Academy of Las Vegas.
Assist students with online applications and job search.

Conduct job club for all students. Keep electronic record and paper record of job club attendees.
Counsel and guide students through the Career Services process
Attend Employer Partners job fairs and other employment related events.
Coordinate on/off site job fairs and interviews. Call students and crate list of participants for the event.
Perform administrative duties required to fulfill the position’s requirements.
Maintain and update Employer partners list monthly. Send monthly graduation invitations to all Employer Partners.
Responsible for data entry: student referred, interviewed and employed.
Assist with internship/apprenticeship sites and visits.
List of unemployed students will be provided to career developer on a weekly basis. Career Developer needs to call graduates for follow up and to provide job leads, assist students with online applications and resumes and schedule them for job interviews. Counsel CALV students about hospitality industry to make proper decision in their job searches.
Keep updated list of all openings at participating partners.

This position will perform additional duties as assigned. Other duties are to be
performed in accordance with departmental and Culinary Academy of Las Vegas
policies, practices and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must: Have knowledge of the principles of effective communication, including writing clearly and accurately. Must be self-starter and have flexible schedule. Previous experience in career development and resume writing. Ability to listen to customers/potential students and respond positively and knowledgably to their requests.
Skill In: Microsoft Access; Email software; Microsoft Outlook; Microsoft Office; Microsoft Excel, power point. Ability to communicate to a range of audiences to convey information effectively, persuasively, and accurately. Good organization skills and time management skills. Must be multi-task oriented, high level of professionalism, calm and collected under pressure. Strong interpersonal and excellent customer services skills. Some evening and weekend work may at times be required. Physical Demand: This position requires bending, standing, and the vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. Ability to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment. Accommodation may be made for some of these physical demands for otherwise qualified individuals who require and request such accommodation. Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office setting and outside environment: may require weekend and/or evening work. Licensing and Certification: None Education and/or Experience: High School diploma and a minimum of three years of experience in job developing, resume writing, career counseling and creating career pathways.
Salary $55,000
