Position : Child Nutrition Program Assistant
Job Description : Description:
Job Purpose
Provide support and assistance to all child nutrition department programs, projects, and activities which include but are not limited to CACFP (child and Adult Care Food Program), SFSP (Summer Food Service Program), Backpack Kids Program, and School Pantry Program.
Essential Duties include but are not limited to
Provide back up support for program manager with cook training, site monitoring, and technical assistance.
Check in site records. Review site records for accuracy. Communicate any findings with program manager so feedback can be provided to improve recordkeeping. Input site records into monthly template in preparation for the monthly claim. Keep
Child Nutrition records for data up to date. Track data to support grants.
Conduct site reviews to determine program compliance. (This is a shared responsibility with other program staff).
Provide program staff in field technical support and covering of sites when needed.
Handle daily staffing arrangements when substitutes are needed; maintain records that support accuracy of timesheets for site coverage.
Obtain monthly menu from vendor.
Gather site opening and closing information from sites. Work with vendor on meal delivery orders and changes.
Keep site and equipment lists updated. Assist with ordering of program materials. Develop and revise outreach materials. Assist with distributing flyers throughout the community.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with site partners, site staff, community partners, volunteers, and FBNN staff to the end of promoting Child Nutrition programs.
Assist with coordination of additional Child Nutrition programs, including entering orders into Ceres, communicating with site partners, ordering product, packing product, scheduling deliveries, running errands etc.
Maintain Child Nutrition files, including site records, health inspections, monthly claims records, etc.
Other duties as assigned, which may include helping with special events of the FBNN, or for other departments on occasion. . Requirements:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works in an office setting. Employee may occasionally work in the field and may be subject to differing weather conditions. Employee utilizes a computer a significant portion of the day. The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate computers, objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear.
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability and patience to sit for long periods of time entering data.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Normal days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm. Days and hours may vary from normal schedule when program schedule adjusts or other special events arise.
Travel Local travel to various sites and events may be required.

Intermediate to advance skills in using Microsoft Office (database, word processing, spread sheet, email, PowerPoint) and utilizing internet search engines, cloud-based services/systems, and online meeting platforms.
Maintain a professional demeanor.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Ability to train and test successfully for Certified Food Protection Manager Course in first 90 days.
Preferred Skills & Experience
1. Two years of college or minimum of one-year experience in food service or food/other program operations.
2. Written and oral proficiency in English with proficiency in Spanish desirable
