Job Description : JOB TITLE Chrome plater
REPORTS TO Material Finishing Manager
SALARY TYPE Hourly
DESCRIPTION OF BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Performs tasks to load and unload electroplating equipment. Fastens metal workpieces to devices, such as hooks, racks, and anode / cathode bars, or loads workpieces in baskets or barrels. Operates rectifiers to supply electrical current to parts during the plating process. Immerses workpieces in series of: cleaning, plating, pickling, stripping, electro polishing, and rinsing tanks for specified time cycles. Moving parts manually or using hoist. Operate ovens to bake parts.
TYPICAL DUTIES · Sorts parts into groups by sizes and or orders. · Masks specified areas of object to protect from plating. · Places workpieces on hooks, racks, bars, baskets, or barrels. · Sets temperature dials of tanks to prescribed level. · Sets volts / amps on rectifiers to prescribed settings. · Flips switches to activate electroplating process in tanks. · Removes workpieces from hooks, racks, bars, baskets, or barrels. · Examines workpieces for plating defects, such as rough spots and thin plating. · Examines finished parts using air gages and micrometers to ensure conformance to specifications. · Turns valves on equipment to regulate flow prescribed levels. · Carries or operates cranes to move workpieces through the electroplating processes. · Keep accurate counts before and after processing parts. · Use required personal protective equipment. Dust masks / respirators, safety glasses, boots, gloves and uniforms. · Drains solutions from and cleans and refills tanks. · Removes buildup of plating metal from racks, using hammer or compressed-air vibrator, and coats racks with shellac. · Replaces damaged or worn equipment parts. · Fills out paperwork detailing the plated parts. · Add chemicals to the plating tanks following manufactures recommendations. · Set ovens to run for specified amounts of time at specified temperatures.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional, machining, warehouse, and indoor and outdoor shooting range. The use of safety glasses and hearing protection are required in specific areas of the facility.
PHYSICAL DEMAND
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

This is a P/T hourly position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, or as needed.
TRAVEL
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 – $21.00 per hour
