Organization Overview*Silver State Voices (SSV) is a civic engagement coordination hub among 501(c)3 organizations in Nevada. SSV is the Nevada affiliate of the State Voices network. Our partners’ work spans a diverse set of issues and communities, but we are connected by a shared commitment to a fair, accessible, and just democracy for all Nevadans. Our mission is to create a healthy, robust democracy by ensuring BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) and underrepresented Nevadans are at the cornerstone of decision-making, power-building, and engagement. SSV develops infrastructure, fosters collaboration among diverse entities, and employs new tools and technology. SSV believes that democracy works best and its outcomes are most just when the voices of all Nevadans are heard. Silver State Voices is a fiscally sponsored project of NEO Philanthropy.**Position Overview
We are seeking a self-motivated Communications Coordinator who is passionate about civic engagement, communications, and digital storytelling. Our core work revolves around coordinating and supporting efforts to increase civic engagement and participation in the democratic process, whether through policy advocacy, movement building, voter registration, voter education, and voter turnout. The Communications Coordinator will play a key role in our work by maintaining our social media presence, creating digital content, and overseeing general communications both within the organization and with our partner organizations.
The Communications Coordinator reports to the Deputy Director of Silver State Voices.**Primary Responsibilities

Maintain organizational social media accounts and platforms and regularly post content
Develop and lead on internal organizational communications content, such as newsletters, reports, and social media toolkits
Lead or assist with the creation and editing of graphics, infographics, and images
Assist partner organizations with their communications capacity and develop their skills as needed
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A strong commitment to the civic engagement of historically underrepresented communities.
A strong commitment to Racial and Gender Equity
Previous experience in social media, communications
Strong interpersonal communication skills in person, on the phone, and in writing.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and ability to work under pressure
Strong project management and organizational skills, ability to consistently meet deadlines and communicate when things change
Strong sense of initiative and ability to work independently

**Additional Preferred Qualifications

Fluency (speaking, reading, and writing) in Spanish or another language.
Skilled in graphic design programs such as Photoshop or Canva
Skilled with Google Suite applications: Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides
Skilled with social media programs like Hootsuite, Buffer, and Tweetdeck
A resident of Nevada for 2+ years
Familiarity with nonprofit and political communities
Familiarity with democracy and civic engagement issues: voting rights policies, elections, voter registration, etc.

**Term of Employment: This is a full-time, exempt, regular position.
Compensation: Compensation is between $50,000 to $55,000 based on experience.
Benefits: Through NEO Philanthropy, this position is offered a full benefits package, including 100% medical coverage for the employee and 90% medical coverage for dependents; 100% coverage for vision, dental, life/AD&D, long-term disability. Location: Las Vegas, Nevada (This position is currently a remote position due to the COVID-19 pandemic but this position will transition fully to in-person to our Las Vegas office)
