Position : Coordinator – Emergency Management

Job Description : Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Coordinator – Emergency Management Exercise Planning and Development is to coordinate various projects of the Security Division and property-wide initiatives related to Emergency Preparedness. This position is specifically tasked with the development of Emergency Preparedness exercises.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Reviews, develops, and implements comprehensive operational response and recovery efforts as well as continuity plans to effectively prepare for and manage various crises/emergencies.
Develops and facilitates reality-based scenarios and table-top exercises involving the company’s decision makers and other key personnel.
Manages the Security Department’s notification system.
Ensures that the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is maintained and operational.
Ensures that there are always on-site Security team members trained in activating the EOC.
Liaisons with the Security Training Section personnel/property Fire Command Center/company Safety Director/Security leadership team along with other Emergency Managers within the hospitality industry/local and federal government and creates partnerships within the community.
Develops and administers approved training to Team Members within the company.
Assists in developing property-wide comprehensive Emergency Operations Plans and Emergency Preparedness Exercises.
Collaborates with internal and external individuals and teams regarding Emergency Management related efforts to ensure comprehensive planning.
Develops and maintains policies/reports.
Assist in the creation and execution of site specific preparedness plans/exercises and Emergency Response related trainings aimed at ensuring institutional emergency management readiness.
Review and analyze emergency management plans and procedures and make recommendations for revisions.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensure preparedness through the availability of equipment and supplies and the availability of staff and facilities.
Partake in developing educational and community outreach programs and working with organizations and community groups.
Develop, coordinate, and implement emergency response plans for identified departments utilizing best practices.
Update existing and develop new programs/processes.
Coordinate effective, timely and efficient handling of workload to assure that deadlines are met.
Maintain professional skills by staying abreast of current developments and participating in developmental programs available within and outside the company; attend job related training, as needed.
Communicate with other staff to share/assist with dissemination of pertinent information, policy and procedure changes, and job related information.
Safety is an essential function of this job.

Minimum Qualifications
21 years of age.
Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Gaming Control Board registration, and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
3 years of lead worker experience, preferably with progressively responsible experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience involving emergency management exercise development and training is preferred.
Courses related to professional emergency response and related certifications are desired.
Experience in security within a hotel hospitality environment and/or emergency services is a plus.
Familiarization with FEMA protocols.
Demonstrates a high level of ability in communications, interpersonal relations, team building, problem solving, creativity, integrity, and initiative.
Ability to initially develop and then facilitate comprehensive crisis/emergency related exercises in front of large groups.
Experience with Microsoft Office.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to:
Lift or carry 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
