Full Job DescriptionTITLE: Cultivation Technician
REPORTS TO: General Manager of Cultivation, Lead Growers
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
STATUS: Full Time
LOCATION: Wells, Nevada
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Cultivation Technician performs a wide range of duties that span the entire life cycle of the plant and all post-cultivation processes. This position affords the opportunity to learn the lucrative cannabis cultivation industry with hands-on training under the supervision of experienced industry leaders. Working in a small facility requires performance in all aspects of the cannabis cultivation and product-to-market production process. While being fully responsible for all day to day tasks of running a fully operational cannabis cultivation facility, the cultivation technicians will specialize in one or more areas including but not limited to material handling, inventory systems, and facility maintenance.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The Cultivation Technician position requires physical activity of lifting and carrying objects up to 75 pounds. Frequent bending, stooping, climbing, squatting, crouching, and kneeling. Must be able to stand up to 8 hours per day, walk up to 4 hours per day, load materials with pallet jacks, type on a keyboard, enter data accurately, and possess close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Must be 21 years of age or older. Must have a background check free from felonies.
A work history that includes a combination of manual labor, critical thinking and problem solving is highly preferred.
Must have effective and conscientious communication skills. Must be detail oriented and take 100% responsibility for the quality and consistency of work output. Must be open-minded, willing and able to consider alternative perspectives with respect for others.
Computer/Organization skills highly preferred.
Facility maintenance skills highly preferred.
Must be able to maintain fast paced performance of manual labor tasks which also require attention to detail to maintain product quality, efficient operations and strict compliance with local and state regulations.
Must have transportation to and from work. Consistency and reliability a must.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintaining a clean facility: sweeping, wet and dry vacuuming, wiping, scrubbing and sanitizing surfaces and equipment daily.
Plant and canopy maintenance: sanitary and precise cloning procedure, focused and expedient whole room defoliation, trellising, pruning, and other direct plant care procedures.
Loading and unloading of all materials and products into and out of the greenhouse
Safe application of pesticides as necessary
Develop, maintain and continuously improve understanding of optimal plant health, including:
water quality
plant metabolism and growth rates
nutrient uptake and deficiencies
light intensity, spectrum and signs of deficiency
environmental conditions and functional interdependencies with all of the above
Any and all tasks assigned by management.
Develop, maintain and continuously improve understanding of integrated pest management including:
Identification of pests and diseases and how to combat individual and concomitant issues in compliance with all applicable pesticide regulations.
Perform with 100% compliancy plant inventory tracking procedures in state mandated tracking system, METRC.
Post cultivation processes:
Harvest plants in accordance with standard operating procedures and with a mindset of maintaining highest product quality. Maintain compliant processing and documentation of plant waste. Work efficiently and with expediency while maintain safety in the use of cutting tools and procedures.
Meticulous performance of plant drying and curing procedures including understanding and maintenance of environmental parameters and the monitoring of plant conditions through transformation into high quality product.
Bucking, trimming and otherwise prepping material for various value streams including proper storage, weighing and inventory tracking procedures.
Perform with 100% compliancy product inventory tracking procedures in state mandated tracking system, METRC.
Learn, adhere to, and participate in the development of standard operating procedures with a mind towards constant process improvement.
Develop understanding of and strive to maintain the various local and state regulations that govern the operation of the cultivation facility. Maintain a 100% compliance frame of mind.
