Position Summary
The Director, Community Engagement for the Far West Division, will have an interim reporting relationship to the Assistant Vice President of Communications until a new AVP Community Engagement is hired for the division. The Director will work with the AVP of Communications in strategic planning and development of community engagement initiatives that will lead to community impact and HCA Healthcare’s positive community reputation & relevance in the communities where HCA Healthcare operates across the country. At least initially, the geographic focus for this position is the San Jose area.
This position will be a partner with government relations and facility community engagement champions to ensure initiatives, programs, and projects are aligned to division community engagement goals. The Director manages and implements enterprise and division-wide partnerships, supports colleague community engagement, and strategic initiatives. In addition to being an integral member of the division community engagement team, the Director will serve as a primary liaison with facility senior leadership teams on all division-wide community engagement initiatives and help facilities as needed.
This position requires unique competencies, including systems thinking, orientation to learning, and collaboration. The Community Engagement Program Director must be adept at navigating complex and dynamic systems, connecting and building trust among multiple stakeholders, as well as adapting to dynamic environments. The Director, Community Engagement must also be available to support community engagement events after normal business hours (after 5PM) and on weekends, as needed.
