Job Description : Job Brief | Estimator
Generate accurate project cost estimates which account for all job-related activities. Develop timely, comprehensive quotes which detail project scope and costs to existing and prospective customers. No two projects are alike so the variety keeps it fresh and interesting.
Responsibilities:
· Review proposed projects and estimates with designers and other internal stakeholders before proposal submission to determine feasibility.
· Address any questions (new build construction, lead times, use of materials, etc…)
· Source and secure competitive bids from 3rd party vendors as needed
· Source and purchase specialty items required for each project
· Review estimate requests, design drawings, and specifications with appropriate personnel to understand the project and gather necessary information
· Complete timely and accurate estimates from floor plans, sketches, models, renderings, oral and written descriptions, and other sources of information
· Prepare Inventory Usage Reports to determine total usage and availability of individual Inventory Items
· Communicate anticipated Inventory shortages to Design Team
· Draft Process / Procedure documents for review/approval by Estimating Manager
· Maintain less than (+ / -) 10% Est vs Actuals for all Proposals
Desired qualifications:
· Super duper organized.
· Damn near OCD with details, timelines and information
· Are gifted with spatial awareness and can understand drawings and renderings
· Excellent written and communication skills
· Pure love for the numbers. A real dollars and cents type.
· Prior estimating experience within a system preferred (FileMaker, ExhibitForce.com, etc…)
