JobSummary: Barnes & Noble Reno Distribution Center is HIRING! Currently, we are looking to urgently fill Forklift Driver positions in our Warehouse.

We are located right off exit 26 on Interstate 580- just 6 miles south of the Reno-Tahoe Airport!

Starting rate of pay of $18.00 per hour for the 1st shift and $18.50 for the 2nd shift

As a Bulk Forklift Driver, you will be given the opportunity to operate up to 5 different forklift machines (order picker, sit down, pallet jack, reach, turret). Previous experience using the electric pallet jack and order picker is required.

Drivers must follow all driver safety guidelines, yield to pedestrians at all times, and work to meet or exceed quantity and quality standards to preserve product, facilities, and machinery, while filling customer orders.

Safety is always our top priority, and we have the following practices in place to keep our facilities clean and employees safe:

Disposable masks and gloves provided daily
Face masks are encouraged but not required
Deep and daily cleaning of the distribution facility
Social distancing practices required by everyone

WhatYouDo: To be successful in this role, you must enjoy working in a fast-paced work environment! We are looking for highly motivated individuals who demonstrate reliable attendance and a willingness to learn. You will be required to demonstrate excellent manual dexterity and coordination; organize and store all inbound inventory electronically; pull products based upon customer orders and prepare for outbound shipping; safely and without damage, move pallets of product throughout the warehouse; operate forklifts around low overheads, exercising machine height awareness and strictly operate the correct forklift in designated areas only. On occasion, you may use handheld scanners and printers to pull customer orders; carefully stack pallets to ensure stable movement; load and unload product at significant heights. At all times, you will be expected to follow strict safety practices including OSHA required procedures, including but not limited to, machine check-in/out, machine operations and standards, personal protective equipment (PPE), proper lifting techniques, and report all accidents immediately no matter how minor. Our ultimate goal is to exceed our customers’ expectations by delivering quality products in a timely manner. To do this, we need everyone to work together and be flexible to move to different areas in the warehouse based upon business needs. Continuous body movement and the ability to stand for long periods of time; lifting, pushing, and pulling continuously up to 50 lbs. will allow you to meet these expectations.

Knowledge&Experience:

Continuous body movement and the ability to stand for long periods of time
Lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 lbs. with or without any reasonable accommodation.
Possess a strong aptitude for technical knowledge and skill for using a forklift mounted computer
Ability to operate more than 30 feet above ground and have good depth perception
Proven ability to accurately and efficiently move inventory to correct locations without damage
Strong attention to detail
Strong math skills
