HR MANAGER SUMMARY OF ROLE: In your position you are responsible for leading the Human Resource department and developing policies and programs that assist in the achievement of meeting our standards of excellence for both internal and external customer service and patient care. This position will coordinate implementation through Human Resource and Administrative Staff. Assists and advises GIC leadership on Human Resource issues.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develops and monitors Human Resource and Administrative policies, procedures, practices and personnel records to ensure the Company is in compliance with all legal and governmental laws, regulations and reporting. This includes overseeing and/or approval of preparing information and serving as primary contact for various agencies and employment attorneys and the annual review, modification and publication of the employee handbook.
Works in conjunction with Leadership Team on establishing recruitment, interviewing and testing strategies and placement of new employees either by direct hire or through an employment placement agency. This includes development and review of any employment or independent contracts applicable and all recruitment advertising.
Works in conjunction with the Leadership Team on monitoring national and local benefit environments for options and cost savings. Leads the development of benefit structures, orientations and training for the organization. Selects and coordinates the use of human resource consultants, insurance brokers, carriers, pension administrators and other outside sources.
Works in conjunction with the management team in determining and incorporating employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale. To include coordination of all employee events.
Administration and reporting of federal and state regulated programs such as COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Unemployment and Worker’s Compensation.
Develops, monitors and coordinates in-house training and other employee related programs that address company needs across the organization. This includes all required annual training and new employee orientation.
Develops, monitors and coordinates the performance management system and ensures effective, accurate and timely 90-day and annual performance evaluations are conducted.
Oversees the HRIS system and personnel files. Ensures accuracy and timeliness of data being entered. Directs and prepares necessary analytical reports as needed and requested. Ensures necessary and accurate paperwork is received from management to ensure maintenance of files and information.
Oversees and works in conjunction with management on interdepartmental transfers, promotions and terminations to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and policies and that procedures are followed.
Manages employee communication and feedback through such avenues as meetings, employee surveys, and employee intranet. Maintains an “open door” policy to encourage employees to discuss and resolve grievances. Facilitates employee-management discussions/mediations. Conducts and coordinates exit interviews and provides feedback/recommendations to management.
Supervises and oversees HR Generalist.
Assumes other duties as assigned by the Physicians and/or Leadership Team.
Manager Core Essential Functions:
Responsible for promoting, supporting and implementing the GIC Employee Code of Conduct.
Ensures that all GIC and Departmental policies and procedures are adhered to.
Addresses errors and concerns with staff, and provides constructive feedback as appropriate and needed. Coordinates with Leadership Team on departmental disciplinary actions.
Produces practice management reports as requested.
Works with the Leadership Team in implementing process improvements, problem solving and the identification and resolution of operational issues.
Attends corporate meetings as assigned, to assist in the identification of corporate operational issues and assist in resolution. Maintains confidentiality and utilizes discretion on business matters. Information is shared in a timely manner with staff as appropriate.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or equivalent field preferred.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
Minimum of 5 years experience within all facets of Human Resources
Minimum of 1-2 years previous management experience, preferably in the HR field
Generalist background with a broad knowledge of employment, compensation, organizational planning, employee relations, training and development, recruitment, and employee engagement
Well developed administrative skills that include working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and preferably ADP HRIS.
Active affiliation with appropriate Human Resources networks and organizations and ongoing community involvement, preferred
Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources programs.
Posses excellent interpersonal, coaching, and both written and verbal communication skills.
Strong skills in employee engagement preferred.
REQUIREMENTS:
PHR/SPHR or SHRM Certification required.
Must have reliable transportation that allows you the ability to go between various locations as needed and necessary – this position operates on-site, in person.
