Job Description : The Gold Bar Mine is located 35 miles northwest of Eureka, Nevada. The property has seen historic mining from 1988 to 1994 by Atlas Precious Metals Inc. McEwen Mining Inc. acquired the property and began active exploration in 2011. The McEwen Gold Bar Mine consists of an Open Pit Mining Operation delivering Ore to a Crushed Heap Leach with solution being processed through an ADR Plant and Refinery.
Job Description
Land Analyst plays a lead role in surface exploration activities at the Gold Bar and Tonkin properties located in central Nevada.
Roles and Responsibilities
Work with third-parties, government agencies, and legal consultants regarding land matters
Communicates with site and corporate senior management
Provides guidance and feedback to other technical team members as requested
May be assigned supervisory duties for new or less experienced team members. Performs required training per identified skills requirements
Land
Maintain land database system (RESPEC)
Monitor and track lease obligations, due dates, and compliance of agreement terms
Organize and file annual claim maintenance fees with Federal and County departments in accordance with current regulations
Claim records management
Ability to review legal documents, assist with title research and problem resolution
Uses processes and systems that enable the team to reach objectives
Liaise with internal and external parties regarding land matters, joint ventures, and other corporate matters
Permitting
Maintain and organize exploration permit tracking systems
Maintain annual disturbance records
Track NOI and reclamation records
Operational / Technical Execution:
Strong computer and database knowledge
Database entry
Basic understanding of land use issues
Very strong organization skills with attention to detail required
Strong communication skills
Administration and Controls
Take part in general daily staff/management and weekly safety meetings
Carry out routine administration and reporting
Health Safety and Environmental
Actively support HSE Management systems and regulatory compliance
Communicate and adhere to safety-related best practices
Ensure that contractors/ and or vendors adhere to safety related practices and procedures
Adhere to Environmental requirements
Communicate any safety issues to appropriate parties
Regulatory compliance
Compliance to HSE best practices
Cross Functional Relationships
HSE Coordinators ensures contractors are compliant with all safety standards
Exploration team: assist with land mapping, map review, liaise with database team to ensure integrity of input data
Environmental team: assist in management of contractors
QA/QC: protocols, reports, data
Discretionary work (NON-CORE)
Identify operational opportunities for growth and development
Qualifications
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Proven leadership and coaching skills
Strong familiarity with complex Nevada land issues
ArcGIS, Microsoft Office products, Database packages
KNOWLEDGE
Advanced level knowledge of geological operations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite + computer software and systems relating to this role
Knowledge of HSEQ standards and requirements relevant to this area of work
