Job Description : The Las Vegas Aviators have the proud distinction of being the longest enduring franchise in the history of professional sports in the state of Nevada. The Aviators are in their fourth season as the triple-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics. The Aviators home games are played at the Las Vegas Ballpark in the master planned community, Summerlin, Nevada, Las Vegas.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Las Vegas Ballpark is searching for driven, hardworking individuals who are willing to perform in various roles around the Las Vegas Ballpark. This position will be responsible for handling all conversion setups and takedowns, project planning, day to day operations, engineering assistance and other duties as assigned. This position will also require that your schedule be flexible and that your availability will accommodate work during the week; on weekends and holidays; and morning and evenings. This is a seasonal, part-time position.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in all aspects of the conversion process in preparation for all events. Duties may include setting up and tearing down tables, chairs, athletic equipment, barricades, staging, bike racks, canopy tents, other furnishings and equipment. **All tasks required during potential inclement weather**
Provide operational support during events working directly with operations team to fulfill any in-event needs. (Assist in pulling out tarp or field covering for inclement weather, Vendor Table Delivery, etc.).
Report irregularities, discrepancies, damage of equipment and property, loss of property and equipment and safety concerns promptly to Manager, Director or Vice President.
Work with Engineering to repair, remodel, and conduct general maintenance items that arise at the Las Vegas Ballpark.
Use cleaning products and equipment(s) to create a sanitary environment.
Able/Willing to perform other duties assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
At least one year in a manual labor position, able to perform tasks listed above with little to no supervision at times.
Strong verbal and written communication skills along with customer service skills required.
Positive attitude and teamwork to accomplish goals.
Excellent customer service skills and commitment to quality.
Willingness to learn about and operate general indoor and outdoor facility equipment.
Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, often under unfavorable weather conditions.
Follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both verbal and written form.
Basic computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and internet browsers/email programs.
Ability to work long and irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include day, evening, weekends and holidays.
Demonstrate ability to carry out tasks in a reliable, productive and expedient manner and be able to adhere to strict deadlines.
Must be able to lift 50+ pounds and work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
Follow all policies/procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules, regulations and emergency procedures established at the facility.
