Job Description : The Role

Tesla is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, analytical, innovative and customer-focused individual to join our dynamic benefits team. The Leave of Absence Coordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing best in class solutions for employee support, liaison between Tesla and assigned vendor, participating in strategic and innovation sessions, and owning and driving process improvement in various areas.

Responsibilities

Communicate on site with employees and provide timely follow-up to ensure understanding and resolution of leave implications (pay, benefits, return to work). This position will require you to work onsite.
Ensures that employees are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice required to qualify for and to take leave.
Assist with administration of day-to-day function of Leaves such as eligibility status, completion of State Disability forms, denied leave of absences, and return to work.
Review and respond to employee, manager and HR Partner inquiries regarding LOA policies, processes, and LOA status.
Execute changes in HRIS system and coordinate with departments and vendor.
Delegating tasks to appropriate team members.
Preserves confidentiality of employee medical documentation and files.
Maintains knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws including the FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, and state and local laws.
Build strong cross-functional relationships with key stakeholder groups, such as HR, Workplace Health, ADA, as well as production associates and managers
Create and maintain mechanisms for tracking of cases to ensure our employee’s needs have a resolution as well as visibility to HR Partner.
Assist in overpayment tracking and administration.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Constantly evaluate current practices to find better ways get the job done, innovative ways to solve problems, and employ a scrappy/hands-on approach to LOA management.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree and/or other evidence of exceptional ability
Minimum 2 years of experience in benefits, human resources, or leave of Absence administration
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work with ambiguity, in a frequently changing, fast-paced environment
Ability to prioritize work and execute multiple projects and tasks in parallel
Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proven experience in all Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Word.
Must be able to work flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends as needed.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
