Position : Medical Billing A/R Representative
Job Description : Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:
· Works Insurance A/R from 0 – 180 + days within established timeframes.
· Works Patient A/R from 0 – 90 days within established timeframes.
· Works Medicaid A/R.
· Performs various insurance A/R actions including contacting insurance companies and patients by phone and informing claims processing of the need to resubmit claims to insurance companies.
· Follows and reports status of delinquent accounts to appropriate billing staff or Billing Manager.
· Works in conjunction with Appeals Analyst to ensure timely and proper payment from insurance companies.
· Reviews medical records requests and submits appropriate documentation to ensure claims are paid.
· Assists with appeals when needed.
· Assists with Patient A/R when needed.
· Attends weekly billing meeting and presents relevant changes or information to team for discussion.
· Responsible for open journals.
· Enters documentation/notes correctly in all required systems.
· Helps with miscellaneous billing duties when available.
· Other special projects and duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour
