Position : Open Pit Sampling Technician
Job Description : Responsibilities:
Safely drive and navigate an open pit environment and interact with other equipment.
Responsible for taking ground samples and samples of stockpile floor.
Run Trimble survey equipment to collect accurate data for the OC group.
Label and collect samples of stockpiles, then deliver to lab
Can safely navigate uneven ground on foot.
Can read OC blockout maps and accurately check OC field control.
Install RFID tags in ore piles
Can safely sample stockpile faces
Qualifications:
Previous surveying experience is preferred
Valid drivers’ license is required
Mining experience is preferred
Surface MSHA required
Ability to carry at least 30 pounds required
Excellent verbal, written, and radio communication skills required
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team required
Satisfactory safety, performance, and attendance records required
Be able to work outside and be on their feet for extended periods of time required
