JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY: The Operations and Maintenance Technician position is responsible for safe day-to-day operations, repair and maintenance of the plant and wellfield equipment and auxiliaries of the Cyrq organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Follow all safety procedures and processes of the specific power plant.2. Follow all environmental laws, regulations and company policies and procedures.3. Able to quickly detect safety or environmental upsets.4. React appropriately and act to minimize the risk to people, the environment and the site location.5. Able to provide suggested site-specific solutions to safety and environmental issues in the plant and wellfield.6. Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Proactive approach to problem identification and resolution.7. Able to complete a complete a pre-job safety briefing, Safe Work Permit or Job Safety
Analysis.8. Able to complete all site safety permits in the same manner as #4.9. Follow all company policies and procedures.10. Receives and follows instructions from O&M Manager and/or Plant Manager.11. Able to detect and evaluate upset operating conditions or less than optimal performance and provide suggested solutions.12. Assist in the start-up and balancing of the plant and geothermal wellfield.13. Monitor power plant and well field operations through the completion of daily activities.14. Able to complete and submit daily plant and wellfield reports during operation.15. Able to operate in a safe and proficient manner all site mobile equipment other than NCCCO rated cranes.16. Perform basic service functions and basic predictive and preventive maintenance for all equipment at the facility.17. Able to work with and direct site contractors as required by plant management direction.18. Able to and willing to provide opportunities for improvement in all aspects of plant operations.19. Able to be flexible and adapt to changes in work schedules, required overtime and short- term plant needs.20. Able to use a wide variety of hand tools and electric and pneumatic hand tools.21. Able to operate and maintain a wide variety valves, and rotating equipment.22. Able to correctly identify by name and/or device all plant & wellfield equipment.23. Able to walk-down any plant or wellfield system and correctly identify each component in the system, its proper operation, and its interaction with other plant systems.24. Able to read and identify all components in the plant Piping & Instrumentation Drawings and if necessary, mark-up drawings to reflect as-built conditions or modified systems to submit for updates.
25. Able to develop, write, and implement written safety and plant operating procedures.26. Able to competently operate and comply with all plant safety and fire system operation, process safety management systems (if applicable), and perform all life safety equipment maintenance activities.
27. Able to correctly read all field pressure, temperature, and flow meters and measuring devices.
28. Able to competently operate the plant repair and preventive maintenance software or computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
29. Can competently execute a lockout/tagout/tryout on any plant and wellfield system.
SPECIALTY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
30. Able to complete removal and replacement of all plant mechanical equipment.31. Able to align all plant equipment to the site standards.32. Responsible to repair and perform preventive maintenance of all the site mechanical equipment, piping systems, rolling equipment, and other preventive and reactive maintenance repairs and tasks as defined.
33. Assist in the troubleshooting and replacement of electrical components.34. Responsible for the mechanical equipment rounds.35. Responsible for the collection and submittal of the oil samples for analysis36. Control site mechanical documentation.37. Evaluate, problems solve and proactively look for ways to improve the performance of plant equipment. To ensure the plant is always in a state of maximum output.38. Able to draw simple single-line diagrams of plant equipment or systems, including pressure, temperature, and flow instrumentation.39. Able to identify and describe the plant and wellfield systems from within the power plant distributed control system (DCS).40. Able to recognize and identify pressure, temperature, and flow discrepancies from normal operating conditions as they relate to plant and wellfield mechanical systems.41. Has a basic understanding of low-voltage and medium-voltage electrical systems.42. Shows great mechanical aptitude skills, including competent understanding of various pumps, valves, piping, heat exchangers, air-coolers, lubrication, and compressed air systems.
43. Can provide preventive maintenance and repair maintenance participation and leadership of coworkers and contractors.
44. Is competent and responsible for the computerized maintenance management software(CMMS) system.
45. Able to write professional daily, weekly, monthly plant operating reports.46. Knows and understands all plant and wellfield regulatory compliance requirements and operating limits.47. Participates in the development and writing of all periodic regulatory reports.48. Able to be Control Room Operator qualified, able to site the board, if needed.
Other: 49. Requires regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.50. Perform other duties and related functions as needed or assigned.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

Able to work 8, 10 or 12 hours rotating shift schedules on 24/7 and additional overtime as needed to meet plant and outage demands.
A minimum of 5 years of power plant, mining, manufacturing or related mechanical experience or training equivalent. Must have a valid driver’s license.
OSHA 10 training preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Able to sit, for extended periods of time.
Able to stand, twist, stoop/bend, squat, kneel, crawl, reach, push, pull, and climb stairs or ladders regularly during each shift.
Able walk moderate distances several times during each shift.
Able to tolerate remote environments, indoor /outdoor, dust, dirt and wind, including hot and cold weather.
Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly from the ground.
Able to don all forms of Personal Protective Equipment and work at heights of up to 50’.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma, or equivalent.
