POSITION: Patrol and Detention Division Deputies
SALARY: Step 1 – $24.5051
Step 2 – $25.2406
Step 3 – $25.9977

The Elko County Sheriff’s Office is recruiting for future openings for Deputy Sheriff in both the patrol and detention divisions. Interested candidates should submit a completed employment application through

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Must meet Nevada Commission on Peace Officer’s Standards and Training (POST) requirements per
Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) 289.110 as listed below:

Graduation from a high school or possession of a General Education Development Certificate

(GED)

Must be 21 years of age at the time of application
Must be a United States citizen at the time of application

A person may not be appointed to perform the duties of peace officer if he or she has:

Been convicted of a felony in this State or of any offense which would be a felony in committed in this state.
Been convicted of an offense involving moral turpitude or the unlawful use, sale or possession of a controlled substance; or
A documented history of physical violence

License or Certificate

A valid Nevada Class C driver’s license is required at the time of appointment and for continued employment.

Conditions of Employment
Upon successful completion of the PPFT (POST Physical Fitness Test) and written exam, selected candidates must:

Complete a n d s u b m i t a P e r s o n a l History Statement and pass an extensive background investigation
Submit a set of fingerprints
Successfully complete a Computerized Voice Stress Analysis (CVSA) examination
Pass a pre-employment medical examination, including a drug screen
Submit to psychological testing
