Job Description : Director of Graduate Services Job Description
The Director of Graduate Services is responsible for managing and supervising the placement department, ensuring successful student job placement opportunities. This candidate is also responsible for ensuring that the college meets and exceeds the standards set by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) with respect to graduate placement at or above 70%. Leadership is essential to success in this position. The following list is a sample of Director of Graduate Services responsibilities. Additional duties may be assigned by the College President as needed.
Student Placement Services
Maintain a weekly detailed report on the status of student placement
Oversee the documentation of potential and existing employers in DiamonD Student Information System
Update weekly postings school wide of student placement (celebrate success)
Contact and document students seeking employment opportunities
Organize job fairs for students
Attend new student orientation as a representative of the placement department
Attend community job seeking/employment related events as approved by college president
Network with employers to assess their needs and report back to the Academic Dean for program development
Management of Placement Department
Hold weekly meetings to review documentation of student placements and students seeking placement
Document and coordinate all employer site visits for the week
Oversee all student interactions with Placement Department
Recruit employers to be a member of the Employer Program Advisory Committees that meet on campus twice each year
Oversee the Job Seeking Skills workshops to help students become gainfully employed upon graduation
Maintain relationships with local economic development agencies
Support Program Advisory Committee Meetings (PAC)
Work with Program Department Chairs in organizing lists of attendees
Solicit potential PAC members through community employer contacts
Organize welcome table to welcome PAC members to semi-annual meetings
Oversee the identification of PAC member into the DiamonD Student Information System for future reference.
Update all PAC members/employers on school posting board
Personal Development Activities
Engage in approved continuing education opportunities with respect to graduate services
Attendance of approved seminars, workshops, and conferences
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 – $58,000.00 per year
