Job Description : Position: Process Technician, Level 3
Department: Production Manager
[ x ] Full Time [ ] Part Time
Job summarySetting up injection molds and establishing new processes to ensure maximum productivity, job safety and quality within the injection molding department.
Responsibilities/daily tasks
Effectively perform responsibilities of Setup Technician
Look up history of process sheets for a part number
Configure Molding Machine based on parameters stated in previous ran part
Perform first-shot inspection and ensure parts are conforming (both dimensionally and cosmetics)
Notify Q.C. when Inspection is needed
Add/Modify tooling BOM information (such as adding notes on a particular tooling)
Perform Scientific Molding Techniques to configure molding machine
Troubleshoot molding machine to identify why parts are not molded properly
Determine when tooling needs to be changed and request tool change
Perform Preventive Maintenance
Qualifications
Knowledge of plastic injection molding equipment, plastics resins and molds
Knowledge of set-up and tear-down procedures of molds
Blueprint interpretation
Knowledgeable in basic electrical and hydraulic functions of the injection molding process
Organized and Safety Conscious
Attention to detail
Quick thinker with troubleshooting abilities
Requires standing, repeated reaching and twisting, hand movement throughout entire shift
Requires lifting and moving materials of up to 60 lbs
