Job Description : The Role: Process Technician, Plastics & Stamping, Gigafactory Nevada
The Plastics & Stamping Process Technician will be responsible for supporting process sustaining and improvement activities in the Plastics & Stamping Center at GFNV. You will work alongside the Engineering teams with a focus on improving the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of a wide array of manufacturing equipment. You will apply your technical skills to help optimize OEE throughout the department, implement quality, safety, and productivity improvements, qualify new equipment, and define new procedures for the production and maintenance teams as needed. You will work with high-performance engineering and production teams in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities include:
Day to day support to production, including rapid response to out-of-control processes as needed.
Investigate and implement countermeasures to improve process capability and production yield.
Maintain and develop manufacturing instructions.
Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives, 5S initiatives, and safety procedures.
Support, coordinate, and execute Engineering trials.
Summarize and analyze yield and process data.
Manage small projects involving multiple teams, departments, and stakeholders.
Support new equipment implementation projects.
Over time, become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all equipment and processes in the Plastics & Stamping area.
Use manufacturing systems effectively (Procurement, MES, Spares Inventory, Issue Tracking).
Leads by example by maintaining a high degree of organization and cleanliness.
Leads by example by following all aspects of the Environmental Health and Safety standards.
Required credentials:
2+ years of experience in Injection Molding and Stamping.
AS/BS Degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Technology or 3+ years of technical military experience in lieu of degree.
Experience with creating Manufacturing Instructions for technical tasks.
Skilled at troubleshooting Injection Molding process issues, such as flash, short parts, burn marks, discoloration, cracking, warping, etc.
Skilled with office software (MS Word, Excel. PowerPoint etc.).
Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
Creates and maintains a positive atmosphere in a collaborative work team.
Maintains a high level of organization and cleanliness.
Flexible with scheduled and willing to perform shift and overtime as required as this is a 24-7 production environment.
Preferred credentials:
5+ years of experience in Injection Molding and Stamping, including Decoupled Process Development experience.
Strong Fanuc and/or Kuka robot experience.
Experience with placing POs and following up with vendors on order delivery.
Experience with developing and executing Design of Experiments (DOEs).
Experience with performing Measurement Systems Analysis (Gauge R&R).
Experience with SQL and Python scripting.
