Job Summary:
The Quality Assurance (QA) / Quality Control (QC) Coordinator / Manager is ultimately responsible for guaranteeing food safety, food quality, and good manufacturing practices in our premier manufacturer of delicious quality food products for K12 and foodservice. The day-to-day work involves careful inspections and the enforcement of quality standards. Other essential duties and responsibilities in quality assurance include:
Quality Assurance (QA) / Quality Control (QC) Coordinator / Manager Supervisory Responsibilities:
Trains employees on implemented programs, documents, procedures, and records.
Quality Assurance (QA) / Quality Control (QC) Coordinator / Manager Duties/Responsibilities:
Document and report product or service quality levels
Develop and implement standards for inspection
Develop a workflow for product inspection
Develop plans to help manage waste
Communicate with other team members to solve problems
Communicate with other departments and Operations Manager on any new and/or revised QA regulations
Follow up with the appropriate channels when mistakes are found
Assist departments with the coordination of audit information and recommends appropriate data-gathering mechanisms, procedures, etc.
Establish and create policies/programs on food safety, food quality, and good manufacturing practices that meet regulations
Write, review, revise, and implement documents: standard operating procedures, policies, records, work instructions
Meet with regulatory authorities: Health Department, FDA
Participate in audits: customer, third-party, third-party certifiers
Review production forms, incoming material inspection forms, testing reports
Perform sanitation inspections and calibration checks on equipment
Identify and address food safety and quality issues (non-conformances/out of specification product)
Report trends in food safety, food quality, corrective action, non-conformance, supplier performance, and customer complaints to senior management
Organizes internal audits, equipment calibrations, mock recalls, mock crisis meetings, water and air checks
Review records and ensure documentation is filled out clearly and accurately, following good documentation practices
Quality Assurance (QA) / Quality Control (QC) Coordinator / Manager Required Skills/Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology) or combination of education and experience.
SQF Practitioner, HACCP, PCQI certified (or able to achieve certification)
3+ years’ experience working in a food manufacturing facility
Ability to handle frequent interruptions.
Ability to maintain close attention to detail and accuracy.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
