Job Description : Job Description
Nevada Behavioral Health Systems is seeking an QMHA to join our team and provide services at our Support Center. Provides responsible rehabilitative treatment and services to psychiatrically or developmentally disabled clients in the Support Center in conjunction with professional staff. The QMHA will interact directly with members, conduct groups, assisting with daily living needs, providing comfort and transportation.
Responsibilities/Duties (but not limited to)
– Responsible for providing services to member under the general supervision of Director
– Responsible for performing tasks that are within the scope of his/her educational preparation, knowledge, and permitted by the policies and procedures.
– Function as a member of the interdisciplinary team and assist with the coordination and provision of services
– Responsible for making observations regarding member physical condition, behavior and responses and reporting any significant changes to appropriate supervisor and other staff members
– Maintains appropriate documentation
– Assist members with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and facilitate/teach independent living skills
– Utilize behavioral and physical techniques to prevent injury to patients and others and to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for member; respond appropriately in crisis situations
Knowledge and Experience:
– Basic computer skills
– Ability to work as part of a team and to handle multiple tasks safely and effectively
– Good communication skills, including the ability to communicate sensitive information with empathy
Skills and Abilities:
– Maintains confidentiality of members at all times.
– Maintain compliance with code of conduct and compliance with regulatory standards.
– Sensitivity to and willingness to interact with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds.
– Ability to communicate with physician and providers of care the social service needs of the patient’s
– Documentation meets current standards and policies
– Proficiency with software and/or equipment (Microsoft Office applications, outlook, word and excel).
– Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
– Ability to work in fast paced, expanding environment
– Ability to exercise self-control in potentially volatile situations
– Ability to work and concentrate amidst distractions
– Ability to handle interruptions and multi-task
