Job Description : Summary:

Register and checkout guests. Maintain guest accounts to ensure current/correct information at all times. Perform audit on all front desk activities. Answer telephones. Communicate with other departments to attend to guest needs. Handle guest services such as mail, faxes, etc. Provide answers to a variety of questions from hotel guests by utilizing all information at front desk including function sheets and front services daily.

Essential Job Functions:

Listen and respond to guest inquiries using a positive, clear speaking voice. Answer questions and offer assistance to provide guest satisfaction. Relay accurate information to guests regarding hours of operation, Hotel services, directions to local attractions or function rooms, car rentals, airline shuttle service, etc.
Register guests by inputting information into computer and assigning them spaces. Settle and checkout guest’s accounts by inputting method of payment into computer and releasing room.
Answer calls and process requests from guests. Make, return and follow-up on calls to maintain proper communications with guests, departmental staff and management staff.
Assist guests with faxes, telephone calls, mail, packages, directions and all other basic inquires. Assist guests with questions or problems they may have regarding their room or account in person, or on the telephone.
Post and balance room charges to guest accounts in order to keep these accounts current and correct at all times.
Make constant contact with both internal and external customers to provide optimal guest service. This includes contact with various hotel departments in an effort to provide/obtain pertinent information needed to ensure proper guest service is provided.
Lift, move, carry and/or push materials on a cart, weighing up to 50 lbs., or carry reports and supplies weighing a maximum of 10 lbs. on an intermittent basis.
Sit, stand, walk, twist (at neck & waist), bend (at neck & waist), reach (above & below shoulder level), push/pull, as needed, for duration of shift. Simple/power grasping as well as repetitive use of hands is required to complete essential functions.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules that reflect the business needs of the Hotel.
Comply with hotel rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of Hotel facilities.
Other duties as assigned within the scope of this job description.

Education:

Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Licenses / Certificates:

Ability to obtain/renew all government required licenses or certification.
