Hours per week: Full-time; 40hours weekly / Part-time 30hours

Our qualified candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience working in a receptionist/office assist capacity and have good computer skills. Must be approachable and enjoy working with people to make a good fit for this opportunity.
Job Summary:
The Front Desk Staff is a critical part of the Residential Support Team at SafeNest’s residential shelter. Supporting residents’ safety and needs and working to support the entire shelter team while making a difference for survivors finding pathways out of domestic and sexual violence. The front desk works closely with Hope Advocates and the Inventory Coordinator to ensure resident requests for assistance are fulfilled.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Checking in/out clients appropriately and with dignity
Monitoring front desk phone and gate access
Revising in-shelter bed assignments if needed
Provide complimentary items to clients as requested
Resolving client issues within limits of authority
Coordinating client care with hope advocates
Adhering to SafeNest Standards/Core Vales and all policies and procedures
Desculate conflict between clients as needed working with supervisors
Ensure client data is entered into the system and updated as necessary
Support residential care team as needed
Create and adhere to trauma-informed and appropriate boundaries with clients

At least one year of work experience with residential experience in a nonprofit organization is preferred.
Ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events; competing demands; and changes in a high-stress work environment.
Ability to demonstrate practical, critical thinking strategies and appropriate decision-making.
Ability to ensure the security and confidentiality of clients and their children.
Ability to recognize and monitor job stress and personal needs.
Fluency in English required; Spanish preferred.

Must be able to lift 25lbs.
Must be able to sit and work on a computer for 8 hours per day. Must be able to type 25WPM.
Regular attendance during regularly scheduled business hours is expected. However, this position requires occasional flexibility in work hours as needed to accomplish department goals and objectives.
Work Environment:
The office is located within a confidential shelter. The noise level in the work environment varies.
