The Company: The Accounting Company is a boutique accounting firm headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, specializing in accounting outsourcing. We provide accounting and consulting services to a variety of businesses in various industries. We focus and specialize in a variety of industries, including hospitality, construction, professional service, retail, and a variety of other industries.
The Position: Accounts Payable Team Leader is responsible for transactional accounting and reconciliation functions and ensures the timely payments of invoices and expense claims within terms and policies. This individual has responsibility for managing cash outflows. This individual has the responsibility to help train other AP staff and hold staff accountable to complete tasks accurately and timely. This individual may also be asked to help with special projects to help with the onboarding of new clients and process improvements.
YOU’LL LOVE THIS JOB IF YOU ARE / HAVE:

At least 3+ years’ recent experience in a similar role in a medium to large-sized business
Demonstrated history of process improvement and simplification
Previous experience in managing an outsourced team
A life-long learner that wants to continue to develop personally and professionally

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

A/P and Transactional Accounting Delivery
Manage day-to-day AP activities of the team, including payments of appropriately approved invoices, invoice coding & processing, reconciliations, supplier onboarding & maintenance, corporate credit card acquittals and expense claim reimbursements
Manage day-to-day transactional accounting activities, including journal entries, accounts reconciliations and month-end activities
Respond to inquiries from internal and external clients
Monitoring and managing team workflows to ensure payments and general accounting activities are completed within expectations
Document and maintain global AP and transactional accounting policies and processes
Develop and improve processes to optimize the productivity of the team
Assist in month-end closing procedures, ensuring that all deliverables are completed within agreed timeframes and quality requirements
Cover key team member tasks during periods when any team members are away from the office
Promote a professional and positive image to clients
Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external clients
People Leadership
Lead, guide, and mentor all direct reports in delivering their core responsibilities, including regular performance discussions and managing underperformers
Proactively contribute to employee engagement initiatives and monitor engagement levels
Foster a culture of leadership, customer service, continuous improvement, simplification and cost reduction

Pay: $45,000 per year minimum or more based on experience
