Slemboski & Tobler, an established general civil law firm located in St. George, Utah is looking for an Associate Attorney with 0 – 3 years of civil litigation experience, or a willingness to learn quickly. Slemboski & Tobler represents clients in a wide range of areas including family law, estate planning, bankruptcy, and areas that naturally extend from those, including landlord/tenant law, criminal defense, and probate. The ideal candidate will be licensed in Utah and have an interest in establishing a good reputation in the fast growing St. George area.

Responsibilities:

Interview new potential clients
Research legal issues
Advise clients on business and legal transactions
Draft pleading, motions, and client documents
Represent clients in court and before government agencies
Negotiate settlements and attend mediations
Take depositions
Draft discovery
Comply with all legal standards and regulations
Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law

Requirements:

JD from an ABA-approved law school
Utah State Bar license (or plan to obtain it as soon as possible)
0-3 years of legal experience
Exposure to estate planning, bankruptcy, family law, contracts, landlord/tenant law, criminal defense a plus
Strong legal research and writing skills are required
Good communication skills
Trial/litigation experience a plus
Self-starter able to think independently
Professional and highly motivated
Advanced technology skills
Ability to excel in a fast-paced challenging environment
A commitment to exceptional client service
Strong academic credentials
Desire for almost immediate hands-on client and courtroom experience
Commitment to the St. George and southern Utah area
