Job Description : The Blue Heron French Cheese Company has been a renowned coastal destination since 1979. Originally focused on crafting brie cheese, the Blue Heron now offers something for everyone. We sell a wide variety of Oregon wines, Pacific Northwest micro brews, local artisan cheeses, gourmet foods, and unique gifts. We also offer an award-winning delicatessen serving amazing soups, sandwiches, and salads. Lastly, our customers enjoy our petting farm for the kids and kids at heart. The Blue Heron is located one mile North of Downtown Tillamook on Hwy 101 and open 7 days a week.Job DescriptionThe Blue Heron is seeking a Chef to lead their busy delicatessen and support staff. Characteristics of this person would be energetic, organized, and a creative taskmaster. Attention to detail and schedule flexibility is a must. This position manages the concept development, creation, testing and implementation of daily deli menu, including daily specials, homemade soups, and salads. Minimum of three years’ experience at a reputed restaurant/deli establishment would be advantageous. Good financial acumen, strong management and communication skills required.Responsibilities/SkillsResponsible for ensuring safe, quality, and timely preparation of deli food.Checks meals prior to service for quantity, quality, and appearance.Serves customers providing a high quality, efficient, friendly and customer focused service always.Ensures all food and non-food items required in deli and potential catering events are ordered and maintained in line with service needs and budgetary requirements.Supervision of all inventories to ensure receiving, unloading, storage and rotation successful keeps inventory at highest quality.Complies with all Blue Heron French Cheese Co. hygiene, health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with legislation and local practice requirements.Always ensures safe working practice and supports the implementation of best practices policies.Performs other professional duties as may be assigned within his/her scope and ability.Working with Marketing/Sales Manager on sales initiatives, focused on meeting financial targets.Positive attitude and excellent communication skillsWhat We OfferCompetitive wages plus tipsHealth Benefit Package for full time employeesEmployee discountsJob Type: Full-timePay: $18.00 – $25.00 per hourBenefits:Health insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftWeekend availabilitySupplemental Pay:TipsExperience:Cooking: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
