THE DAY IN THE LIFE AS A TRAVELING CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT
We are looking for a Construction Superintendent with significant experience in the restaurant (QSR and Casual Dining), Retail, Strip Malls, Gas Stations with C-Stores to join our company. The Project Superintendent will report to Frontier’s Project Managers and Finance Team and will be charged with managing the completion of all daily activities on a given job site in accordance the project plan, schedule and the company’s policies and practices. Some of the specific responsibilities will include:

Traveling to, and living near, the various job sites on the east coast during the duration of each project (generally 14 weeks)
Developing and maintaining positive working relationships in a team-based environment with the project managers, project coordinators, and the company’s finance team, as well as the project owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors and others to ensure overall project and client satisfaction
Fully understanding the specifics and uniqueness of the project, the project plan and the project schedule – including important milestone marks – and managing themselves and others to achieve those targets
Proactively working with the identified subcontractors and suppliers ensure they arrive onsite on time, well equipped and are producing quality work in a safe and responsible manner
Ensuring only those with appropriate documentation (e.g. signed contracts and valid insurance) are allowed on job sites
Completing thorough Daily Field Reports with appropriate photographs, write-ups – including “lessons learned” on the job and “items of concern” – and submitting them at the end of each day to the appropriate parties
Fully participating in regular status meetings with team members, subcontractors and, when appropriate, project owners, architects and engineers sharing honest and accurate information on a timely basis
Proactively alerting the Project Managers and other members of senior leadership of any issues, concerns, expected project overruns or delays well in advance
Addressing and resolving issues related to the project in a responsive manner and proactively seeking input from others in the organization – not going it alone
Ensuring project closeouts are conducted in a timely manner

ABOUT YOU
As a Project Superintendent, you will have the opportunity to:

Work closely with, and learn from, the organization’s owners/principals and other senior members of the team
Contribute to the overall success of the organization by helping to develop those around you, and by suggesting and establishing new processes and practices that will help bring additional efficiencies to the organization and its clients
Strong knowledge of the construction industry including construction site management, project scheduling and financial acumen
Strong knowledge and experience of the restaurant sector (QSR and Casual Dining)
Ability to work in a fast-pace environment; an ability to multi-task effectively; an ability to maintain attention to detail
Strong written and oral communication and negotiation skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Project, and Excel
Working knowledge of Procore – Timberline a plus
