The Core Account Demand Planner (CDP) is a customer-facing supply chain planning role focused on a select category of Pharma/Biotech customers. This Bioproduction Group role is the owner of a credible, high quality demand signal, which is vital for a successful demand planning process and the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning process (SIOP). The role will also support transactional supply chain improvements aimed at improving service level to the accounts
The ideal candidate will be adept at communication with multiple levels of the customer organization as well as with Commercial colleagues, Product Management, and the supply chain function. Furthermore, the role requires interpretation of data and analysis to build and refine a customer forecast with the best possible intelligence.
What will you do?
Be the trusted authority of the Core Account demand forecast ie., the rolling 3- 24-month detailed plan that leverages history, customer forecast data, molecule intelligence, industry, and other relevant insights
Collaborates externally with Core Accounts on their manufacturing plans (campaigns), related purchase projections to Thermo Fisher, and seeks to understand the customer dynamics that impact demand signal quality
Supports Commercial teams on the engagement approach to improve collaboration at Core Accounts, articulating mutual benefits of the program to strengthen relationships
Sets the cadence of customer meetings, along with clear agendas, inputs, outputs, risks and opportunities, that culminate in the rolling 3-24 month demand plan
Owns the monthly demand Interlock process for Core Accounts thru alignment meetings with a broad set of Commercial stakeholders covering new (future) and recurring (existing) business
Interfaces and collaborates internally with Product Demand Planners and Product Managers on a routine monthly cadence
Builds the mapping and knowledge base of Thermo Fisher bioprocessing materials used in key customer drugs, molecules, and brands, to enrich the forecasting process
Maintains and refines Core Account metrics including forecast accuracy, forecast bias, forecast value add, as well as understand broader SC KPI’s such as lead time and on-time delivery
Drives collective understanding of customer metrics and trends across the broader supply chain, implementing proactive actions to increase efficiencies and productivity
Monitors customer demand plan attainment in the short term (0-3 months), and supports Customer Service to shape Core Account order patterns and encourage order placement for constrained materials
Provides ongoing Thermo Fisher lead time updates to the Core Account to ensure master data alignment, and supports two-way data quality on critical supply chain data elements
Participates in shaping the ‘CDP Playbook’ for consistent training and standard work across the team
How will you get here?
Basic Qualifications
BS/BA degree in supply chain, operations management, engineering, business administration
5+ years of experience in demand planning, sales operations, forecasting, or customer excellence role
Understanding of the SIOP or IBP process, statistical forecasting, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) concepts
Strong analytics acumen, interpretation of data, and ability to translate into customer insights
Strong customer communication skills and problem-solving customer issues
Collaboration skills both inside and outside the organization
Results driven
Experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and ERP system usage
Preferred Qualifications
Pharma/Biotech experience
Demantra demand planning tool experience
Salesforce.com CRM experience
Power BI experience
Professional certification such as CPIM or CSCP
