Description
SAIC is seeking a seasoned Data Scientist. This role can be 100% remote. SAIC seeks an experienced, results-oriented, mission-driven Data Scientist who possesses knowledge of appropriate data sources to address the specific requirements of projects for data modeling. Understand business requirements and translating into technical work. Design and implement features in collaboration with team engineers, product owners, data analysts, and business partners using Agile / Scrum methodology.
Duties may include, but are not limited to:

Apply a broad range of techniques and theories from statistics, machine learning, and business intelligence to deliver actionable business insights from our data

Solve difficult, analysis problems and help to apply advanced analytical methods when needed
Conduct analyses that will work with data gathering, data processing, data modeling, and ongoing deliverables

Work with large, complex, and structured/unstructured data sets and databases such as SQL
Build and prototype analysis pipelines and help in the creation of data models
Collaborate with Data Engineers to help deliver on Data projects

Qualifications
Required Education:

Bachelor’s and 9+ years of experience; Master’s or Doctoral level degree WITH 7+ years’ post-degree experience in military healthcare operations or specialized clinical experience with military medical patients in acute, inpatient or rehabilitation settings

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

Experience with machine learning methods such as forecasting, association rules, classification, clustering, and/or regression analysis

Expertise in programming languages such as python or R, and database languages such as SQL

Must be comfortable working with global teams spread across multiple regions

Be a part of a large passionate data science community that’s always sharing new learnings, best practices, and a helping hand

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong statistical analysis and problem-solving skills

Proficient knowledge of programming languages and data structures

Experience with database ETL and data visualization

Familiarity with military cultural competence

Must be organized, flexible, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Experience with MS Office, especially MS Word and MS Excel

Strong interpersonal, verbal, presentation, and technical communication skill

Ability to succeed as both an individual contributor and team member, identify and address client needs, and contribute to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with team members, and proactively seeking guidance, clarification, and feedback

Ability to assimilate and analyze information from a wide variety of sources efficiently and effective

Experience in leading project teams and/or collaborating with team members

Experience in conducting analysis of effectiveness data through qualitative and quantitative analysis of utilization, healthcare costs, and program outcomes

Ability to provide written summary of statistical findings and conclusions

Target salary range: $125,001 – $150,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
