Job Description : Do you have weekly or daily newspaper experience and looking for an edit from home position? If so, the Gallup Sun could be a fit for you.
If you live near the office, then we have a beautiful work environment for you. If you would like to consider relocation, we can consider that as well. But, we need someone who understands the newspaper business and that can start right away.
At the direction of the publisher, you’ll help with all facets of editing during pre-production. It’s a fast-paced position, but also rewarding.
You get to see the fruits of your labor when the paper is published on Friday. Hours are at minimum 25-30 per week, and often higher. The individual that excels in the position may work into the managing editor position.
Some training will be provided, but you must possess attention to detail, good news judgement, patience, and great editing/fact checking skills.
TECHNOLOGICAL REQUIREMENTS

– Reliable computer either Mac or PC
– Printer/scanner
– Access to high speed internet
– Quiet work area, preferably a home office
– Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Dropbox, FTP, Skype
– Must have cell phone
