Position : Excavation Laborer
Job Description : NO EXPERIENCE NECCESSARY – WE WILL TRAIN
We are seeking a laborer who can perform day-to-day tasks pertaining to the excavation department. Needs to understand and have experience in all phases of excavation. Candidate must be honest, ambitious, hard working, take pride in his/her work, have great attention to detail and above all, have personal and professional integrity. This individual needs to ensure things are done accurately and efficiently as well as confirming all policies have been followed. Must be able to pass a drug test, have a clean driving record, and we do E-Verify.
Job Duties
Ø Must have a valid Driver’s License
Ø Communication skills are required, as well as being able to stay on task & on schedule
Ø Perform tasks involving physical labor at a construction site.
Ø Needs to understand all phases of excavation, from lay-out to final grade
Ø May clean & prepare sites, dig trenches, rake material, clean up rubble, debris & other materials.
Ø Understand and operate various types of excavation equipment is helpful
Ø Experience with basement excavation & backfills is helpful
Ø Experience with underground utilities is helpful
Ø Experience with concrete preps is helpful
Ø Experience with grading of lots is helpful
Ø Installing erosion control & LOD fencing
Ø Clean storm drain boxes
Ø Assist with snow removal during the winter months
Ø Maintains equipment daily
Other Job Duties
Ø Fills out and turns in completed Work Orders daily
Ø Keeps accurate time records.
Ø Assists in other duties as requested by the Forman, Excavation Manager, Manager of Operations, & President.
Work Environment
Work in an outdoor environment subject to changing & seasonal weather extremes. Employee must be able to perform job duties typical of an outdoor setting with appropriate climate controls. Tasks will require a variety of physical activities, generally involving muscular strength (must be able to lift 50lbs), such as walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, and seeing essential to performing required job functions. Eye, hand, finger dexterity exist. Mental application utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, discriminating thinking & creative problem solving.
