The Team Development Director and HR Officer will work closely together toward this objective, with an integrated approach that adaptively addresses a diversity of staff and firm needs.The Team Development Director (TDD) will oversee, coordinate, and report on a best-in-class approach to attracting, retaining, and growing team-oriented talent. The TDD will report to the CEO and supervise the HR Manager, collaborating and coordinating efforts with Executive Staff, Regional, and Practice Area Leaders.Oversee and coordinate talent recruitment strategy reflecting QE philosophy. QE views recruiting and hiring as part of a long-term process of relationship and team building. Finding, identifying, and recruiting the right people is an ongoing activity, with the goal of meeting good candidates whenever and wherever they can be found. Seeking diverse individuals to participate in our unique and diverse but team-oriented culture, we see our staff as some of our most effective recruiters.Coordinate and enhance ongoing recruiting processes for staff at all levels.High school outreach and shadowing programsInterns, (aka Quinnterns), junior, mid-career, and senior staff in all disciplines.Work with internal leader-recruiters at corresponding levels to implement the recruiting strategy.Foster participation in the recruiting process and effective use of recruiting tools across the firm.Identify, track, and assess existing and new sources for prospective teammates.Recommend, develop, and utilize multimodal communications for attracting and retaining staff.Oversee intern recruiting program follow-up, for a diverse and effective pipeline of junior staff.Monitor recruiting and team activities and outcomes to understand medium and long-term successes and challenges.TrackingDocumentationAssessmentStrategic adjustments.Develop and oversee a best-in-class approach to staff development (education and training) reflecting Firm philosophy. We are committed to providing avenues for exceptional teamwork, leadership, and growth for our diverse and capable staff, through a positive culture, coaching, and training.Firm-wide staff education and training at all levels include the following:Culture & Belonging.Implementation and periodic refresh of on-boarding, and “buddy” programs.Training, input, and guidance to managers and staff on employee relations.Training on QE core values and principles (aka, Foundations, brand training).Assist management with a resolution of employee relations issues.Coaching & Advancement.Core Competencies, information management, relationships, and marketing360 feedback at milestones.Mentoring programs across the firm, working with regional chairs.Professional Development. –Develop corporate training inclusive of everyone in the firm to allow them to reach their full potential.Project Direction, Management, Design & Documentation.Special Expertise: (existing (site, building) resources, facilitation, daylighting, envelope performance, Future BIM…).Work with Practice Area and Excellence Initiative leaders to coordinate cross-office training related to expertise.Core Competencies10+ years progressive experience in talent acquisition and staff development.Knowledge and understanding of the architectural design process and design thinking.Strategic leadership, with the ability to work with all levels of stakeholders to identify, communicate, and accomplish the best outcomes.Ability to build strong relationships across all parts of the organization to inspire participation and leadership in others.Strong organization, communication, and collaboration skills.Must be able to maintain privacy and confidentiality of workforce data, concerns, and ownership interests.Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook and use of other required systems.Education & CertificationBachelor’s degree in Management, Human Resources, Architecture, or related area, with HR Certification (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP).
