Western Technologies is a 60-years young consulting firm offering professional services in the southwestern United States in the fields of geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, construction materials engineering and testing, nondestructive testing and welding inspection.We have an immediate full-time opportunity for an experienced ICC Special Inspector in our Salt Lake City, Utah office. Ideal Candidate will have experience performing construction testing and inspection of soil, concrete, masonry, and /or steel with ICC certifications in reinforced concrete, pre-stressed concrete, structural masonry, structural steel and or spray-applied fireproofing.Routine duties include on site observations/inspections to confirm compliance with the local building codes and project contract documents, collecting samples, performing specific QA/QC tests on construction materials and building components per ASTM, ACI, etc., standards, and compiling detailed records of observations, inspections and test results. Work is generally performed unsupervised (i.e. employee is in the field as the Company’s representative) but under the direction of a Professional Engineer or Project Manager.The successful candidate should be thoroughly knowledgeable regarding the standards related to the construction and inspection of reinforced concrete and masonry structures. The candidate must be able to read and understand structural blue prints and current code requirements.Hourly wage up to $30 depending on experience and current certifications held. These are full-time positions with excellent benefit package which includes health, dental, vision, paid holidays, PTO, and 401K. Must have clean MVR and pass a pre-employment drug screening.
