Position : Logistics Assistant
Job Description : Candyco is currently seeking an energetic, organized and hardworking Logistics Assistant to join our rapidly growing organization.
The Logistics Assistant will be responsible for helping ensure that our inbound and outbound freight process is efficient and that we are paying the best rates possible. This position will also assist the department head as needed in non-freight related duties to serve our customers and other departments.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establish and maintain relationship with vendors and carriers
Coordinate inbound and outbound freight
Arrange, monitor and maintain tracking of shipments
Resolve any shipment issues/delays
Ensure timely product pick-up and delivery
Provide regular updates to customer on status of shipment
Address and manage any customer claims
Create shipping documents
Prepare export and other documents as needed.
Help track rates with freight companies to improve our rate discounts.
Audit and correct carrier freight invoices and BOL’s as necessary for payment
Coordinate with warehouse employees to transfer product between locations.
Follow strict customer shipping guidelines
Monitor vendor compliance and help promote vendor improvement
Comply with laws, regulations and standards
Handle incoming phone and email for transportation department
Requirements:
2-3 years in logistics, or supply chain related experience preferred
Excellent communication skills a necessity when dealing with customers and co-workers.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines;
Ability to multitask on a daily basis
Problem solving skills and attention to detail are a must.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
must be a self-starter, self-directed and highly motivated;
Ability to positively influence culture and behavior and work effectively with all levels within the company;
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
