Position : Marketing and Communications Manager
Job Description : POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for leading the marketing team and planning, directing, and coordinating market research, marketing communications, advertising, social media, printed materials, and digital content for the college. Works under the direction of the Director for College Advancement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supervise the marketing team.
Execute innovative college marketing plans to increase enrollments and brand awareness.
Coordinate a full range of services such as advertising, social media, website, search engine optimization, community awareness events, publications, and other creative approaches.
Manage external agencies and providers, including contract negotiations.
Plan, write, and edit college communication documents and website content to ensure consistency with the college’s mission and core values.
Conduct market and competitive research and identify emerging market segments within the scope of the college’s mission and strategic plan.
Prepare and administer marketing department budget. Track benchmarks and return on investment related to marketing expenditures.
It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within their capabilities as determined by management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications, or related field preferred.
A minimum of five years in a lead marketing role.
Organized, creative, and energetic individual who is self-motivated, positive, and goal-driven.
Strong leadership, interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate with all levels of the organization.
Knowledge of communication best practices in web development, search engine optimization, copywriting, strategic content, and design.
In touch with and able to craft a message—through words, media choice and design that resonates with the college’s diverse customer groups, including historically underrepresented populations.
Salesforce (or other customer relationship management software) experience desirable.
Spanish-speaking proficiency desirable.
Demonstrated ability to work with individuals of all racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.
Employment in this position requires a 12-month probationary period
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
WORKING HOURS: Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Additionally, there is no Social Security deduction –The current tax rate for social security is 6.2% for the employer and 6.2% for the employee, combined 12.4%. The College does not contribute the employer portion to social security. Instead, we invest this percentage amount into a 401k account on behalf of the employee. You will receive the 6.2% employee contribution as net pay or you can choose to invest it.
