Job Description : NeuStart Psychiatric is a rapidly growing Psychiatric Group Practice with locations in Salem, OR, Beaverton, OR and Portland, OR. Our group practice consists of Psychiatrists, Psychologists, PMH Nurse Practitioners, as well as therapists and counselors. We are currently looking to add an experienced Certified Billing & Coding Specialist to our rapidly growing team who can dedicate full time to providing us with billing and credentialing services for our practice. Growing in-house medical billing company seeking an experienced Billing Specialist to join our team. Ideal candidate would have a strong background in medical billing and claim/authorization appeals process for a variety of insurances.
Bilingual Spanish candidates are encouraged to apply.
Primary work duties:

Assist insurance companies regarding claims/authorizations.
Work with patients and insurance companies to solve claim denials.
Work with providers and insurance companies to solve authorization denials.
Investigate, appeal, and solve insurance denials.
Necessary follow-up with insurance companies.
Tracking appeals and identifying patterns in claim/authorization denials.
Research and analyze data needed for reimbursement.
Verify CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 codes for coverage, reimbursement, and compliance.
Answering incoming calls, communicating professionally and effectively to assist patients and insurance companies with questions regarding; billing, claim/authorization denials, account balances, and taking payments.
Various other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Experience:

1+ years of medical billing that includes appeals process -or- 1+ years in a claim resolution position. (Required)
1+ years of customer service (Required)

Skills Required:

Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding.
Familiar with EOB’s and knowledge of insurance companies.
Problem solving and customer service skills.
Detail oriented, organized and able to multi task.
Strong written and verbal skills.
Working knowledge of office software such as Word, Excel, and E-mail.
Working knowledge of office equipment such as computers, printers, faxes, and multi-line phones.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED (Required)
Completion or enrollment in medical billing program (Preferred, but not required)
Associates degree in related field (Preferred, but not required)

Other:

Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
Applicants who do not answer all pre-screening questions and/or do not complete assessments will not be considered for this position.
