Job Description : Are you self-motivated, focused, and organized? If you are looking for a new and challenging opportunity then Youth Care is the place for you! Youth Care of Utah, a residential treatment center for adolescents is hiring a Medical Records Clerk. We need a candidate who is organized, detail oriented and dependable. This position is 30-40 hours per week and schedule can be flexible. We offer full benefits including medical, dental, 401k with company match and robust PTO plans. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Audit active charts weekly to insure completion. Update and monitor a spreadsheet of delinquencies
Audit discharged charts and close them within 45 days.
Scan and upload discharged charts (medical, financial, or educational, as needed) to the Electronic Medical Record.
Organize records storage room (medical, financial, and educational records) and keep updated with destruction of old charts and addition of new charts.
Post weekly progress updates to Parent Checkin and Best Notes.
Monitor HIPAA compliance of all medical record related activities.
Obtain authorizations to disclose records (a.k.a. releases) and review for HIPAA compliance and/or verify compliance of Third Party releases.
Provide cross-coverage with Medical Records Specialist to process requests for medical records
Provide cross-coverage with Medical Records Specialist to process and maintain compliance with Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC) forms
Provide backup for Receptionist. This includes, but is not limited to, answering phones, preparing and posting treatment documents, mail services, office supplies, maintaining office equipment, and other receptionist duties as assigned.
Initiate, edit, and publish Master Treatment Plans, Monthly Updates, and Discharge Summaries and post to the Patient Portal, track timeliness

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Some experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred, self-motivated and detail-oriented is a must.
At least 21 years old
Minimum education: High School Diploma/GED equivalent
Physical and emotional ability to work in a fast paced environment
