Position : Operations Manager
Job Description : Adler Pelzer Group – a growing global Tier One supplier of Acoustic NVH and Soft Trim products to the automotive industry is seeking a motivated and committed Operations Manager to lead a manufacturing facility in Port Huron, MI, 50 miles north of Detroit.
The ideal candidate will have previous Tier One Automotive Manufacturing Leadership Experience. This is a hands-on, involved leadership role for someone looking for an opportunity to develop a team and manufacturing operations of acoustic parts for major OEMs in the US.
The Operations Manager directs and coordinates, through hands on and team involvement, the activities concerned with production of company product(s), utilizing knowledge of throughput, inventory and operating expenses. This role works closely with staff to establish standards, controls and budgets while maintaining optimum production and the utilization of all resources. The Operations Manager reviews and analyzes plant performance data for reports, both internal and external while identify and solving abnormal situations.
The following are the major duties and responsibilities of the Operations Manager:
Responsible for a multi-functional plant producing products for customers. Impacts plant finance, manufacturing, engineering, materials, quality, human resources, and information systems. Has P&L responsibility for assigned location.
Will make decisions that will have a significant impact on the business of the company in terms of costs, schedules, and customer relationships.
Troubleshoot production and maintenance issues and immediately enacts contingency plans as needed.
Review on going performance results to targets, takes corrective action, implement, and measure results.
Establish standards and controls while maintaining optimum production and utilization of human resources.
Direct and guide the need for change for the purpose of improving methods by the use of measurable standards, realistic goals and accountability for improvement
Interfaces with Corporate office and sister plants to ensure smooth coordination of scheduling, shipping, and production.
Oversees daily activities of facility to include, shipping and receiving, maintenance, production control, quality, production, and human resources.

Experience
Required
7 – 10 years: Knowledge of P&L statements and the ability to understand accounting statements in order to maintain a profitable operation
7 – 10 years: Industrial, Manufacturing, Engineering, Business or Operations Management degree, or equivalent training and/or experience.
7 – 10 years: Knowledgeable of manufacturing processes to include all functions from raw materials to finished goods, as well as equipment and machinery.
5 – 7 years: Change management experience
7 – 10 years: Tier I automotive supplier manufacturing operations management
