Global Public Affairs strengthens our reputation in our site communities in order to enable Intel’s license to operate and support growth. This role will engage in a variety of efforts all intended to strengthen Intel’s reputation including Intel’s employee and retiree volunteer and matching donation program and local communications.
As a Oregon Public Affairs Programs Specialist your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Own strategy to drive employee and retiree volunteer hour reporting in order to maximize Oregon’s contribution to Intel’s global RISE 2030 goal of achieving 1M volunteer hours per year
Support business groups, employee resource groups, and the Oregon Volunteer Council to identify, plan, and execute volunteer opportunities to support local schools and nonprofit organizations.
Create internal communications to highlight upcoming volunteer opportunities and spotlight the impact employees are making in the community through various platforms including newsletters, blogs, and social media. This includes drafting a monthly Intel Involved employee newsletter.
Manage communications and logistics for site wide donation drives including our annual school supply drive, food drive, and blood drives
Resolve inquiries that come through the community feedback form managed by volunteer inbox
Support day to day volunteer program administration. This includes identifying new volunteer opportunities, posting volunteer opportunities to the online portal, recruiting volunteers for events, and reporting employee volunteer hours.
Support strategic community programs, partnerships, and events. Tasks can include drafting communications, setting up event registrations, booking rooms, ordering catering, and purchasing supplies.
Provide analysis on volunteer and giving data regarding total hours and grant recipients.
Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to create communication copy, including but not limited to social media, internal and external newsletters, sponsorships, ads and blogs.
Communications support on identifying recipients and content for campaigns such as updates on local hiring efforts, local volunteer events, and media monitoring.
Provide operational support of our global employee programs HERO and SEED
Support the Oregon Public Affairs team with other tasks related to payments, neighbor, community engagement and government relations.
The successful candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits:
Communication skills.
Occasionally work outside traditional business hours to support community engagement efforts.
Willingness to work in the Hillsboro region and be onsite, pending COVID guidelines.

Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Position not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidate must possess the following:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Business Management or a related field of study.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
