Position : People Services Generalist – Final Mile
Job Description : The People Services Generalist – Final Mile will support one dedicated customer for Watco Logistics. This position is responsible for 3 main areas of operation: People Services, Team Member Recruiting, and Independent Contractor Recruiting & Management
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
People Services
Conduct team member onboarding and support team member training and development
Support the administration of compensation and benefit plans
Provide training for managers in the areas of interviewing, performance management, sexual harassment, leadership, hiring, terminations, and promotions
Provide guidance and support in employment claims and discipline matters, including policy guidance, procedural handling, investigations, discipline meetings and document creation
Team Member Recruiting
Create a customized and innovative sourcing strategy to attract passive job seekers.
Generate local advertising to attract more qualified applicants.
Establish and maintain relationships with hiring managers to perform searches for qualified candidates according to relevant job criteria, using computer databases, networking, Internet recruiting resources, cold calls, media, and referrals.
Provide creative solutions for hard-to-find positions.
Work with hiring managers and interview teams to ensure job requirements and descriptions are accurate and that we know their future hiring and business needs.
Managing your applicant database to track accurately for the candidate and hiring manager.
Conduct initial discussions with applicants to obtain information on work history, training, education, and skillsets, keeping in mind our company culture to find candidates who embody born competencies such as trust, integrity, humility, motivation and service orientation.
Creating offer letters for the hiring manager to present to the final candidate.
Completing final closing out activities in the ATS to ensure all candidates have been properly notified of their application status.
Source and contract new temp agencies as needed
Independent Contractor Recruiting/Management
Create a customized and innovative sourcing strategy to attract Independent Contractor Drivers.
Generate local advertising to attract more qualified applicants for Facility Managers.
Process Independent Contractor contracts and verify insurance requirements are met
Process insurance renewals for 180+ Independent Contractors as they expire
Requirements
Four year college degree preferred but not required
Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
Light industrial or transportation recruiting is preferred
Ability to travel as business dictates, occasionally up to 75%
Attention to detail
Sense of urgency as well as the ability to work and excel in a fast- paced environment
Trustworthy to handle confidential and sensitive information
Strong organizational skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 – $62,000.00 per year
