Do you have a passion for public procurement? Are you a great communicator and team player? Well look not further; The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is looking for a customer-oriented purchasing agent to prepare solicitations, administer contracts, and ensure compliance with the Utah Procurement Code. You will perform functions, such as reviewing and/or inspecting work for quality, accuracy, and completeness. You will give direction, guidance, and training to team members and customers.

Principle Duties
As a Purchasing Agent you will:

Review and evaluate procurement needs of assigned area and/or customers.
Prepare solicitations and enter information into accounting and tracking systems.
Analyze and review data, interpret results, report findings, and make recommendations.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, rules, standards, and guidelines.
Settles or resolves issues/complaints; review documents; reconcile discrepancies.

This position is eligible for telework, based on supervisor approval
Working Conditions – Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
Physical Requirements – Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
Employee may be reassigned to a different location as deemed necessary by the Region Director/Group Leader.
