Job Description : McMinnville Area Habitat for Humanity Position: ReStore AssistantReports to: ReStore ManagerPosition Type: Part Time to begin – potential for Full Time + Benefits beginning July 1, 2022Compensation: $18/hour (24-26 hours/week) Summary/Objective The ReStore Assistant is responsible for operations oversight and participation in whatever capacity required for efficient operations, up to and including managing the ReStore, at the directive and in absence of the ReStore manager.ReStore Assistant is expected to perform all tasks safely, efficiently, and effectively, and to use polite and respectful communication with staff, volunteers and customers.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and mentor Receiving staff, including giving directivesCollaborate with volunteer coordinatorCashier lead: understand and be able to troubleshoot POS system, train volunteer cashiersTrain volunteers to complete ReStore tasks. Report to volunteer coordinator with any need for reviews/follow-upGreet and assist customers in the store, including pricing, measuring and answering questionsDiscovery of and follow through on necessary actions and delegation of tasksRequired Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesExhibit exemplary leadership and problem-solving skills, including addressing unexpected issues and emergenciesEffectively control all aspects of ReStore operationsManage customer and donor issues and complaints professionally and courteouslyManage time and workload efficiently, including timely arrivals and reportsUse tools and equipment, such as a forklift, pallet jacks and dollies to move donationsMaster communication tools, such as telephone, email and 2-way radioAdapt to a changing work environment; learn and teach new operations skills as program developsDress appropriately, have a neat appearance and wear ReStore logo and name tagOther duties as assigned, including taking a leadership role as neededMinimum requirements: High school diploma or equivalent, college education a plusExcellent reading, writing, communication and basic math skillsMinimum 1 year customer service experienceMinimum 1 year staff management experienceExperience volunteering and/or managing volunteersWork Environment/Physical DemandsThis job operates in an open, warehouse retail environment. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
