Strategic Deterrent Systems Division Logistics is currently seeking a Manager, Material Distribution 1 candidate to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in Roy, UT. This position will manage the daily operations and lead a team of 7-10 people.
Duties include: direct supervision of the staff, assignment of work, schedules, day-to-day workflow, and operating costs comprised of exempt and non-exempt employees exercising minimal independence in their assignments to accomplish required statement of work.
Daily efforts will include but are not limited to:
Oversee the coordination and movement of material, hardware, and finished goods throughout the site while ensuring process/procedural compliance safeguarding both personnel and product
Providing guidance and oversight of Packaging group’s SOW
Manage overall group to ensure Safety, Quality, Delivery, Employee, Cost (SQDEC) targets are achieved
Monitor work operations and actively assist or provide direction to subordinates in the following areas:
Receiving – oversee the receipt and unloading/loading of materials in plant warehouses
Storeroom – oversee the receipt, issuing, and delivery of general stores inventory.
Contracts – oversee the stocking, issuing, and delivery of contract materials to production lines utilizing SAP and Pick Ticket Application
Packaging – oversee packaging designs and containerization/palletization of unit loads to ensure safe transport of items
Deliveries – oversee shipment department operations and cover plant deliveries as required
Provide direction to all subordinates using established policies and procedures; ensure subordinate work is reviewed for adequacy in meeting cost and quality objectives
Schedule equipment and personnel to manage customer demands for the production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements.
Form partnerships and act as an agent between material planners and storekeepers
Oversee employees, processes, and equipment and warehouses including: SAP and Pick Tickets
Assist in physical movement of materials where necessary
Advise management of the status of work in progress, equipment availability, and potential material issues to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed
May perform on-going operational tasks of organizational groups or be assigned to teams working on sector level tasks, projects or process changes/improvements
Conduct briefings and participate in program/ homeroom meetings with internal and/or external representatives concerning material issues and manufacturing/programmatic risks and/or constraints
Interface with manufacturing supervision and site leadership to support program/site needs, process improvements, and resource management
Basic Qualifications:
AA Degree or 4 additional years of experience and 5 years minimum experience.
At least one year experience leading projects or cross-functional teams.
Ability to lead and motivate peers to mentor and ensure others meet complex objectives
Experience in SAP enterprise resource planning software.
Experienced in inventory control, stock transfer, parts kitting, packaging principles, and movement of items through the supply chain infrastructure.
Experience with storing and managing inventory with shelf-life requirements and tight environmental controls
Experience supporting complex packaging, shipping, and logistical requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a Supply Chain Management or similar
In-depth knowledge/experience managing kitting requirements
Active DOD Secret Clearance within the last 5 years
Ability to work across disciplines to influence change to improve operational efficiency
Ensure department compliance with MMAS requirements
Demonstrated ability to lead safety initiatives to drive a culture of a safety-first environment
High degree of creativity and ability to solve a wide range of problems.
Basic computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project)
Salary Range: $77,600 USD – $116,400 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
