Position : Short Term Worker – Water Conservation
Job Description : POSITION SUMMARY
The primary function of this position will be to assist with community outreach efforts, water-use assessments, and program development research. Job duties include assisting Division staff in the preparation and delivery of educational programs and presentations, engaging with community members at public events, collaboration with other city employees, administration of rebate and incentive programs, and assisting staff with water-use irrigation system assessments.
Applicants should be able to communicate effectively with others, educate community members at public events in a manner which is in accordance with the City’s core values, be able and willing to work outside, employ good problem solving skills, and research and present accurate findings for program development. This position is a great opportunity to gain real world experience in the field of water conservation.
Bargaining Unit: Not Represented
Fair Labor Standards Act Status: Non-Exempt
Work Week: Up to 40 hours/week. Generally 8:00am to 5:00pm
Supervisor: Water Conservation Specialist
Length of Assignment: not to exceed 90 working days
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must be of legal age to perform the duties of the position;
Some experience working with the public, public events, and basic office skills are desired, but not required;
Some education, experience and interest in Water Conservation is desired.
