Job Description : University Business Services Accounting and Financial Reporting Office supports the instructional, research and outreach mission of the University. We ensure that MSU business transactions are conducted and reported efficiently, effectively, and in accordance with all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities
Administrator of the Purchasing Card Program across four campuses
Cash Collection (wired funds in/out)
Check cancellations Banner and SABHRS
Daily bank transfers from credit card payment processor accounts to MSU bank accounts
Inter-Unit Journals with the State of Montana and Agencies
Journal entries
Reconciliations
Credit references/W-9 requests
Costco Payments
UBS Phone queue/UBS Mail routing
Provides backup for other accountants in University Business Services Accounting office

Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Relevant knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
Demonstrated experience with research, analyzing and reconciling skills.
Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Demonstrated working knowledge of a Financial ERP system.
Relevant knowledge of University & State of Montana policies and procedures.
Relevant knowledge of banking procedures.
Accounting or Finance Degree.

Perform detailed and complex work with high level of accuracy.
Effectively work under minimal supervision and ability to self-motivate.
Organizational skills.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public in a team-oriented environment.
Represent the University Business Services office and its programs to others in a professional and courteous manner.
Communicate effectively with campus and state personnel, both in person, over the phone and via email.
Maintain confidentiality of records and information.
Demonstrate Service Excellence through courtesy, reliability, safety and competence of actions.
