Summary

You will gain knowledge and practice from one of Canada’s most successful grocers that will give you the necessary experience to become competitive in your future endeavors.
An Administration Intern at Metro Ontario is responsible to support the Distribution Centre for unionized employees, supervision, managers, and senior management. This position is responsible and accountable for processing information in a timely and accurate manner in compliance with Company Policies and the Collective Agreement. The Administrative Intern ensures that Operations has the correct information and tools to support the daily functions of the Distribution Centre.
Specific Responsibility
Pulling missing break report daily and emailing to supervisor for disciplines
Updating and Creating Weekly Measure day report (Productivity report)
Typing Productivity letters and updating Productivity chart
Creating Weekly probation report for FT & PT
Calling absent PT and FT probation employees and creating absent report
Preparing and processing the termination forms for FT and PT probation employees
Updating, creating, and posting weekly PT schedule for the following week according to business needs and availability form PT employee submit every week
Creating attendance report for nonunion employees for Directors and Managers
Updating weekly Absenteeism and efficiency report for directors and VP
Creating, updating, and posting weekly FT Schedule and Seniority list for following week
Typing and posting Temporary Awards and Updating weekly Temporary Awards Chart
Updating weekly Master list and manpower schedule with changes and Temporary postings
Updating and printing weekly Labor Sheets, EDOL/DOL lists
Updating vacation charts and employee files according to Vacation changes, Personal days
Ordering all supplies for the warehouse and office such as portering, office and PPE supplies
Performing weekly non-union payroll and updated Management schedules for Daily tasks such as photocopying, filing, mailing, updating rolodex, processing update forms, updating and posting all communication and announcements to the employee’s news boards, updating and posting organizational chart, emailing the EXE reports to payroll department.
Other duties as required
Qualifications:
Business undergraduate student (or equivalent) preferred
Good oral and written communication skills including good interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize and multi-task, as the incumbent must adhere to strict deadlines with consistent interruptions.
Ability to problem-solve and work independently with minimal or no supervision.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
