Administrative Secretary at Windsor Middle School beginning 6/6/2022.
SALARY: Range 11 on Classified Salary Schedule: $18.12 – $22.10 per hour based on education and work experience. If transferring from an existing position in the district, maximum placement is mid-point.
WORK YEAR: 215 Days, 8 hours per day. This position is benefited.
REPORTS TO: School Principal and Assistant Principal(s)
QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years’ job experience as a secretary; or graduation from a recognized school of secretarial skills.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administrator may find appropriate and acceptable.
Proficiency in typing, including correspondence, reports, notices, recommendations; and knowledge of modern office practices.
Working knowledge of PC’s and peripherals.
Proficiency in a variety of professional office software programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists Building Principal with office tasks as may be assigned. Serves as office manager for the high school office.
Performs office management duties for high school athletic department and for activity director, including but not limited to, maintenance of database for student athletes, communication from the athletic director, online calendar of athletic events and school activities, and confirmation of athletic contests for date, time and venue.
Maintains accurate and up to date leave records for teachers.
Arranges substitute coverage when teachers must leave during the school day.
Keeps an accurate weekly failure list for office use and sports eligibility.
Keeps accurate student insurance forms and files all claims.
Acts as liaison between administrators and staff, pupils and the public.
Maintains a regular filing system, as well as a set of locked confidential files, and processes incoming correspondence as instructed.
Maintains a schedule of appointments and makes arrangements for conferences and interviews.
Orders, receives and maintains office and copier supplies as needed. Schedules repairs and maintenance of office equipment.
Coordinates building printing needs with district print shop.
Coordinates building use with District Scheduler.
Prepares materials for student registration.
Maintains database of high school staff, including phone directory, calling tree, and voice mail assignments and communicates changes to appropriate party as required.
Attends staff and department meetings as may be required and prepares minutes of these meetings for distribution in a timely manner.
Maintains high school web site pages and assists teachers in the same as may be required.
Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Building Principal or Assistant Principal.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Work year and salary to be established by the Board of Education. Shall receive the benefits of sick leave, retirement and the usual policies which apply to classified personnel. Vacation time established by Board policies.**EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policies which apply to classified personnel.
