Job Overview

The Associate Human Resources Business Partner interprets and explains human resources policies, procedures, and rules to managers and employees to aid in ensuring legal compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This position applies established practices to administer and execute human resource programs and respond to employment-related inquiries from employees and supervisors. The Associate Human Resources Business Partner serves as the primary HR representative in Employee Relations, including performance and behavioral workplace concerns.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.¿

Interprets and explains human resources policies, procedures, and rules to managers and employees and ensures legal compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Provides advice and counsel to employees and managers on performance management, employee relations, dispute resolution, and corrective actions.
Applies established practices and procedures to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; training and development.
Responds to employment-related inquiries from employees and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the senior team members as needed.
Supports the corrective action and disciplinary processes by scheduling time with managers and employees on performance and workforce behavior matters, investigating concerns, recommending appropriate action, drafting letters and supporting reports.
Contributes to the HRBP and Talent Management teams with organizational development strategies including quality improvements and analytical problem solving derived from trends and performance outcomes.

SCOPE & LEVEL
Guidelines: Guidelines are generally numerous, well established, and directly applicable to the work assignment. Work assignment and desired results are explained by general oral or written instructions.
Complexity: Falls between the entry and full performance/senior level. Duties assigned are generally repetitive and restricted in scope but may be of substantial intricacy. Employee primarily applies standardized practices.
Decision Making: Decisions or recommendations on non-standardized situations are limited to relating organizational policies to specific cases. Brings non routine issues to supervisor. Problems that are not covered by guidelines or that are without precedent are taken up with the supervisor.
Communications: Contacts with team members, clients or the public where explanatory or interpretive information is exchanged, gathered, or presented and some degree of discretion and judgment are required within the parameters of the job function.
Supervision Received: Under normal supervision, within a standardized work situation, the employee performs duties common to the line of work without close supervision or detailed instruction. Work product is subject to continual review.

Qualifications

EDUCATION – Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Communications or a directly related field.
EXPERIENCE – One year of experience in human resources interpreting and explaining policies, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
EQUIVALENCY – Professional experience, beyond requirements, in a related field may substitute for a Bachelor’s degree requirement on a year for year basis.

Salary Information Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $63,207.93 to $94,811.90
Hourly Salary Range: $30.39 to $45.58
